General contractors are licensed to carry out a wide variety of construction tasks. This could be anything from roofing work to building foundations, electrical and plumbing work – as well as framing. In Nevada, there are three distinct general contractor classifications which are Type A, B, and C. These three different classes can only perform certain functions. Type A handles large projects that have an engineering role, Type B handles smaller projects including commercial and residential work, while Type C is more specialized and handles tasks such as plumbing and electrical.
